Area of scientific interest: Traditional social institutions among the Karakalpaks, tribal groups, family and kinship relations, ethnic components of the Middle Ages in the ethnogenesis of the Karakalpaks: Pechenegs and Kipchaks

The dissertation was defended in 2019 at the Specialized Council of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the specialty 07.00.07 – Ethnography, Ethnology and Anthropology on the topic “The place and role of social institutions in the contemporary daily life of the Karakalpaks.”

Since 2022, work has been ongoing on a doctoral dissertation titled: “Medieval ethnic component in the ethnogenesis of the Karakalpaks: the case of the Pechenegs and Kipchaks.”

Since 2009, participation has been ongoing in state fundamental, applied, and innovative projects based at the Karakalpak Research Institute of Humanities of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

– FA-F1-GOO1 “Karakalpakstan in the Context of World Culture. The city and urban culture in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya in a historical perspective.” Project Manager: V.N. Yagodin, G. Khojaniyazov, Candidate of Historical Sciences. 2012-2017;

Also a participant in the international project “Oral History: History and Memories in the Lower Amu Darya” (2009) and the project “The Role of Social Institutions in Everyday Life” (2017) of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany).
